The only problem with them closing the gate is that controversy will not find a way in, so everyone will lose interest. The only people who will then be posting and reading are the people who already believe their half-baked ideas. Their goal of teaching the masses or whatever won’t work (not that it was already, but it at least reached more people). Personally I now know what YEC is and can say with authority it’s the funniest/most stubborn/uneducated group out there.

I thought Icewedge’s goal was lulz, more than anything. Although that certainly helps destroy CP’s credibility, but TK and Conservative (and RobS, frantically removing words from the dictionary) are way ahead of them on that.

It certainly rests on what the definition of “destroying cp” is. If injecting scientific truth into an open wiki is equal to destroying it, then, well, Je m’accuse.
