Column 8: But those mine enemies, […] bring hither, and slay them before me. (Lk. 19:27)

The purge over at Conservapedia continues:

There are some pretty high-profile editors on that list. Among them, we note Flippin, Horace, AmesG, and Terryeo. Other entries that catch the eye are a number of people blocked for making “no edits” (well, a bit difficult to make edits, then); Prof0705, who was recently involved in a conflict over something as controversial as Mousterian stone tools; and of course Favor, who was blocked with the absolutely delightful justification: “Don’t need you”. Yes indeed.

At this rate, it seems like the holy halls of Conservapedia will soon be empty and quiet, echoing only with the memories of the past promises of glory. Or, put less poetically, if they block all the good editors, who’s going to write their freakin’ articles for them? Inquiring minds want to know.

Mr. Schlafly, by the way, is strangely silent on this whole purge, beyond a few minor comments and some blocks. One begins to wonder if he still has full control over Conservapedia and over Sysop TK. Has there in fact been a palace revolution at Conservapedia? Could mr. Schlafly remove Sysop TK if he wanted to? Coverage of these fascinating questions continue.

On to more pleasant news: I am happy to announce that the coming days will most likely show some very exciting developments that may, or may not, completely transform the opposition to Conservapedia and bring it to a whole new level of abstraction. And no matter what, one fact remains: Internet = Serious Business.

Keep watching this space, and good night, and good luck.

Actually, Heart of Gold seems to be writing the bulk of their articles since the purge started, and that’s largely just making a dramatis personae list for the Bible. Beyond that, it’s mostly the above, and TK unblocking and re-blocking a pile of users who’d already been permanently blocked anyway.

Well, whatever keeps him from hurting himself, I suppose…

  2. 2 Middle Man May 17, 2007 at 2:34 pm

They blocked AmesG? He was blocked for a couple of weeks, so how could he have done anything against CP?

They blocked the good professor (Prof0705), who was probably the last non-YEC left (except for Hoji)…

They blocked Jpatt? He was more conservative than Reagan!

    TK has really lost it…

  3. 3 Middle Man May 17, 2007 at 2:39 pm

I stand corrected: Czolgolz is still alive, you think he bribed TK’s SS shocktroops?

P.S. I smiled when I saw the username “JerryFalwellisgettingassrapedinhell” in the block log..

  4. 4 Hyperbole May 17, 2007 at 2:43 pm

I literally laughed out loud and did a spit-take when i saw that username.

  5. 5 JLindon May 17, 2007 at 2:57 pm

Jpatt had an entry on CP:Abuse, I think. Something about him only discussing without making real edits. Kinda surprised that the 90/10 rule was applied, though. Jpatt struck me as the kind of guy who could have survived easily under TK’s New World Order.

But it appears that Conservapedia can afford to be picky. After all, they still got all these thousands of active editors from all sorts of professions that work hard on making sure that a certain level of quality is maintained. Oh, no, wait. They don’t.

Judging from the mail silence so far (two mails sent 20 hours ago, no reply, even though he had shown activity on Conservapedia), Andrew seems to try the “Maybe the dust will settle quietly and we can pretend that nothing ever happened” route. So Conservapedia “mysteriously” calmed down for no real reason. There is no controversy.

  6. 6 Juliansmith May 17, 2007 at 5:03 pm

I’ve been advised to use a different name here from my CP one in case TK is reading it and permablocks me! Conservapedia, at this rate, will be useless and irrelevant. people will say “hey, remember conservapedia?” and laugh among themselves. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.

  7. 7 hyperbole May 17, 2007 at 5:37 pm

You mean people will REMEMBER cp??

  8. 8 AmesG May 17, 2007 at 6:20 pm

Just so everyone knows, there will soon be a full-fledged site dedicated to providing debate & refutation of claims that CP advances.

All will be welcomed to the debate, and won’t be blocked for “trolling” or because TK needs to go on a power trip to feel like a big enough man for some hot date, or something.

    Stay tuned.

  9. 9 alba May 17, 2007 at 6:22 pm

I think he’s sexy. Im flying to nevada

  10. 10 Kelseigh May 17, 2007 at 6:41 pm

Isn’t that giving them more attention than they’re worth, given their rapid slide into madness and obscurity?

  11. 11 hyperbole May 17, 2007 at 6:42 pm

If the new site is not needed, then it will not grow, and will die. Only time will tell if the original editor pool expands to maintain a vital site.

  12. 12 Kelseigh May 17, 2007 at 6:58 pm

Well, I was thinking that specifically refuting them is probably the wrong focus, and energy should be put to something a bit more long-term.

  13. 13 BarfBarrel May 17, 2007 at 9:51 pm

I hear Phillis brought TK in to clean house.

  14. 14 JLindon May 17, 2007 at 10:15 pm

I hear TK can’t even spell Phyllis.

  15. 15 Todd Larason May 17, 2007 at 10:31 pm

Czolgolz is gone, with a TK claim “Vandal(rational))”. One more example of TK’s reading comprehension…

  16. 16 BarfBarelImposter May 17, 2007 at 10:50 pm

Barfy emailed me and said assfly has a nice butt.

  17. 17 Kelseigh May 17, 2007 at 10:52 pm

Makes me wonder what else Phyllis got TK in for…

    …oh, I so didn’t just say that…

  18. 18 BarfBarelImposter May 17, 2007 at 10:54 pm

He also likes Phillis (sic) butt.

  19. 19 hyperbole May 17, 2007 at 11:26 pm

    Barfy, you have been DISAVOWED.

    Dear Mr. Schlafly,

One of your goons, or maybe you, has pursued me off site to harass me about R…. I do not take kindly to threats of any nature and will ask that you to cease and desist this juvenile behavior and ask your goons to do likewise. From now on all communications are going to be saved and forwarded to my attorney.

    Good day,

Your allegation is completely false. I don’t know why you think that your disputes with other people has anything to do with me. You don’t give a reason and there is none. I have no “goons”.

No one is communicating with you at my request or direction, and no one is communicating with you on my behalf.

    Andy Schlafly

    Mr. Schlafly,

Then reign in your SYSOPS, TK has been following me around at Wikipedia, and another sysop, I imagine its Karojou but am not sure. They have all ready had 3 accounts blocked for legal threats and harassment. If thats the face you want this project to have, fine.

    Please read my last email.

I have no authority over the individuals you mention. If you have a dispute with them, or anyone else, then that is between you and them.

It would not surprise me if your conduct has provoked and injured many people. It is your responsibility to make amends for your actions. I cannot do that for you.

Don’t waste any more of my time with your baseless allegations. Thank you.

    Andy Schlafly

Yes, I can confirm that Binary42 was my sock, and yes, we are now witnessing Le Mort d’Conservapedia.

  21. 21 La Cabale May 18, 2007 at 12:16 am

La Cabale n’existe pas! Vive la cabale!
    TK n’existe pas! Vive TK!

  22. 22 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 2:01 am

First off yes, I am Sysop Geo.plrd of Conservapedia. I speak for myself only and am not empowered to speak for the CP Administration. All of the blocks/bans we have initiated in the past 48 hours have very good reasons behind them. At this time, I am not at liberty to elaborate further. Rest assured that this is not the death of Conservapedia.

  23. 23 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 2:44 am

All of them? Every single one? No guilt by association, no jumping to conclusions, no guilt by unpopular opinion?

    Right, sure.

  24. 24 Kelseigh May 18, 2007 at 3:12 am

Don’t be so harsh, Todd. “Andy said so” is a very good reason.

And Geo.plrd is right, this isn’t the death of CP. After all, self-mutilation doesn’t have to be fatal.

  25. 25 hyperbole May 18, 2007 at 3:15 am

But with tk locked in the looney bin, it’s kind of boring.

  26. 26 BarfBarrel May 18, 2007 at 3:16 am

  27. 27 Kelseigh May 18, 2007 at 3:18 am

Well, Conservative has been busy purging the Dianetics stuff, and RobS is having this lovely battle to keep facts out of the Homosexuality article (and getting left in the lurch by C, who doesn’t care), so there’s still drama to be had.

    Pass the popcorn.

  34. 34 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 4:21 am

As i said before, there are very good reasons for all blocks. This isn’t guilt by association, it is a security action to remove users in violation of rules.

  35. 35 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 4:43 am

What rule did I violate, George?

  36. 36 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 5:49 am

Todd, my email is enabled at CP, I do not feel it is ethical to broadcast disciplinary matters

  37. 37 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 6:27 am

You have my permission. What rule did I violate?

  38. 38 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 6:29 am

    You conspired to commit vandalism

  39. 39 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 6:33 am

Simply by having an account on rationalwiki? That’s guilt by association. By something I actually said or did on rationalwiki? If so, quote it.

  40. 40 Leopeo May 18, 2007 at 6:34 am

And what did I do, Geo?

  41. 41 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 6:43 am

I do not have the information for you

  42. 42 Leopeo May 18, 2007 at 6:53 am

Because I have done nothing wrong. Could you reinstate me to Conservapedia?

  43. 43 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 6:54 am

And if you don’t have that information for me, how do you know “there are very good reasons for all blocks. This isn’t guilt by association”?

  44. 44 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 6:55 am

I have to hunt stuff down, email me with the block message you are getting

  45. 45 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 7:13 am

So you’re sure all the blocks are justified, but
    1. you don’t know what supposed evidence there was for mine
    2. you don’t even know the text of Leopeo’s block

    Hint: it’s listed at

  46. 46 Raptor May 18, 2007 at 7:42 am

    Todd, you say above:

“Simply by having an account on rationalwiki? That’s guilt by association. By something I actually said or did on rationalwiki? If so, quote it.”

Odd, since other users of Rational Wiki are denying it even exists on other pages here, and at WP.

Jrssr5, your time is done, once again, and Leopeo, grow a pair and quit crying like a little bitch, ok?

And Sid, given your comments, and asking people to be polite, what should be made of the comments about Andy’s mom, etc.? Isn’t it really pretty low and scummy to use a man’s family in disagreements? I mean, do people here really have no shame whatsoever, is there really nothing so low they will not do?

  47. 47 Leopeo May 18, 2007 at 7:51 am

Raptor, your comment on me is funny. Some of you CP Sysops are real men, aren’t you? And you take criticism like real men, don’t you?

  48. 48 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 7:52 am

Quotes and URLs, please, Raptor. I haven’t seen anynoe deny it exists — that would be pretty silly, since anyone can see that it does.

There are no references to ‘rationalwiki’ found by CP’s search system. None of the hits for ‘rational’ in talk pages look at all relevant.

Are you a sysop at CP? If so, maybe you can provide the “very good” non-guilt-by-association reason for my blocking? Maybe you can also use a real name, or at least a CP username, so I know who I’m speaking with? After all, at CP you’re “up front about who [you] are”, or so Andy emailed me.

  49. 49 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 7:56 am

Oops! I misread, you said “WP”, not “CP” (hey, TK, look — that’s how you say you’re wrong).

There is actually one hit at WP for ‘rationalwiki’ — but it’s hardly a denial it exists, it’s User:Cerelite saying he’s active there, and providing a link.

    (I also typoed “anyone”)

  50. 50 Raptor May 18, 2007 at 9:15 am

Todd I saw a discussion page there, where some user, I forget, named Tmoutlse? Something like that denied its existence. Some people responded saying that person was a liar. Then later, their posts vanished. Odd, eh?

BTW, please don’t assume who this is. Isn’t that bad form?

  51. 51 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 9:29 am

I’m not assuming who you are — that’s why I asked who you were, which I guess you’re declining to answer. The side note was addressed to TK, whether that’s you or not, because he needs to learn how to say he’s wrong.

As to the claims of denial, assuming by ‘there’ you mean ‘wikipedia’, you should be able to find the convo in the history, assuming it existed.

  52. 52 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 9:35 am

Wait…did you take “there is no cabal” in WP:Talk:Conservapedia as a denial that RW exists? If so, you should follow the link and think about what it means.

  53. 53 Raptor May 18, 2007 at 10:31 am

Oh, I think all you guys think too much over some stupid websites….why should I get into that?

  54. 54 Kelseigh May 18, 2007 at 12:01 pm

    …and yet, here you are.

  55. 55 hyperbole May 18, 2007 at 12:56 pm

I’m happy to make possibly unjustified assumptions. Raptor is clearly TK.
La Cabale n’existe pas! Vive La Cabale!

  56. 56 pal May 18, 2007 at 12:59 pm

Hey, It’s me! So, Raptor, I asked a few people to reinstate me, given that my “retirement” was enforced on me after I said I was stepping down. So far, no one wants to seem to reinstate me on CP, despite a history of being the ONLY qualified editor around on medical issues. I even enganged other members in conversations on topics that were important to them, even though these topice were NUTS! But I was willing to incorporate their ideas in my edits, where appropriate. So, Im still waiting for my invitation to return.
And, Raptor, don’t tell me to grow a pair. Ad hominem, ad hominem!!!

  57. 57 Aulis Eskola May 18, 2007 at 3:07 pm

JLindon: “So Conservapedia “mysteriously” calmed down for no real reason. There is no controversy.”

I am still there (I don’t understad why they have not blocked all of us?) but I have no sensible words to say there…

Why to try to keep it open for all?! I think it is still open to register and edit – but only one kind of views are allowed.

  58. 58 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 3:08 pm

I did not make any of the blocks. If Leopeo wants to be unblocked, I need the contents of the block message he gets

  59. 59 Leopeo May 18, 2007 at 3:19 pm

I already e-mailed you Geo.plrd through Conservapedia. The message is:

Your user name or IP address has been blocked.

The block was made by TK. The reason given is sock vandal.

You can contact TK or another administrator to discuss the block. You cannot use the ’email this user’ feature unless a valid email address is specified in your account preferences. Your current IP address is 82.XXX.XX.XXX, and the block ID is #6546. Please include either or both of these in any queries.

  60. 60 Tmtoulouse May 18, 2007 at 3:29 pm

Wow, I should have shown up here a long time ago. This place is more entertaining than CP is at the moment.

  61. 61 hyperbole May 18, 2007 at 5:37 pm

of course…you have to read all of BarfBoy’s comments, but he seems to be quiet lately.

  62. 62 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 5:52 pm

I am currently reviewing both Jtl and Leopeo’s cases and will act as appropriate.

  63. 63 pal May 18, 2007 at 5:55 pm

how about mine, geo? Any interest?

  64. 64 Czolgolz May 18, 2007 at 6:00 pm

No, I’m gone for good. I’ve been blocked for my name, for correcting someone spelling, for ‘probably’ not being a YEC, and other reasons. This was my 6th and final. I guess this was what it was like in Russia when Stalin started going nuts.

  65. 65 human May 18, 2007 at 6:04 pm

    Hi Raptor The Knife 🙂

You know why I do not engage in sockpuppetry? My writing style would give me away. And Georgie, you’ve got to be kidding. The only rule I can be at all accused of breaking has to be interpreted backwards:

“15. We do not ban users based on their comments elsewhere, such as on their own blog. Wikipedia will monitor users’ blogs and ban them for their exercise of free speech on their own blogs.”

Anyone can research my contribs, which have been productive and valued.

La Cabale est Morte; Viva La Cabale!

    There is no Cabal…

  66. 66 pal May 18, 2007 at 6:09 pm

I never did figure out why Czol got banned, other than having a user name that’s hard to spell, and suspicious for being of foreign origin.

  67. 67 Geo.plrd May 18, 2007 at 6:15 pm

Pal, I know your block was justified, don’t even try to pull the victim stunt. Human, same to you.

  68. 68 pal May 18, 2007 at 6:18 pm

Justified by what criteria? I have never hidden anything. I am not pulling a “victim stunt”. I’m just curious, if you feel it’s justified, why it is, other than one of TKs rage attacks.

  69. 69 Hyperbole May 18, 2007 at 6:21 pm

    HAA HAAAA…omfg…”site sheriff”….LOL>>>LOL…

  70. 70 Raptor May 18, 2007 at 6:48 pm

PAL, you are just an argumentative, mean-spirited, nasty individual. There isn’t a Commandment or Guideline that says you are due any answers. Why don’t you take it to Court?

  71. 71 pal May 18, 2007 at 6:56 pm

Well, if that is your opinion, then you don’t really need a commandment. I don’t expect you to change your mind, as you clearly have no understanding of my edits or my personality. Sure, I am sometimes abrasive when it serves a purpose, as is Raptor. I have plenty of places to post truth, so hopefully CP can attract other educated, but less abrasive, editors. As long as it gives them the freedom to post truth, CP will eventually be overwhelmed by good, educated editors from the left and right.

  72. 72 pal May 18, 2007 at 6:57 pm

Of course, that means abandoning Gestapo/Mind Police tactics, putting a leash on some of the less stable sysops, etc. It’s a problem at WP, but shear numbers helps dilute them there.

  73. 73 Kelseigh May 18, 2007 at 7:00 pm

For someone who claims to be part of government (claims ad nauseum, with little to no proof), Rap…uh, TK, seems to really despise fair, open and transparent operating practice. Which, if his comments about government are true, is sad and frightening all at once.

  74. 74 RaptorClone May 18, 2007 at 7:02 pm

    Tais-toi, sale Canuck!!!

  75. 75 darkshadow May 18, 2007 at 7:12 pm

Does anyone else find it funny that BarfBag, I mean Raptor … or TK is using socks on here?

  76. 76 hyperbole May 18, 2007 at 7:16 pm

Its not like it’s hard to figure out who he is.

  77. 77 darkshadow May 18, 2007 at 7:19 pm

Of course not … most people that dumb were weeded out of the gene pool at an early age (or god removed them, whichever theory/fact floats your boat). TK has very unique brand of hate.

  78. 78 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 7:20 pm

    So to summarize:

Geo.plrd (who will give at least that much ID — thanks Geo!)
    – is sure that “there are very good reasons for all blocks” (4:21 am)
    – claims I “conspired to commit vandalism” (6:29 am)
    – doesn’t even know what excuse was given for Leopeo’s block (6:43 am)
    – still doesn’t know what excuse was given for Leopeo’s block at
3:08pm, despite all that information being available to any user on
CP, as I pointed out at 7:13am, and despite Leopeo having emailed it
    to him.
    – claims to be reviewing my case & Leopeo’s, as of 5:52pm

    – is almost certainly a CP sysop who refuses to even ID himself
as such, despite Andy’s insistence that “Conservapedia is up front
    about who we are”
    – claims other RW users denied its existance, both here and at WP
    – cannot or will not supply links to such denials

I still don’t understand how Geo could be sure there were good reasons
for all the blocks, when it took him more than 12 hours to even find
out the excuse given for one, and still hasn’t found the evidence for
mine or Leopeo’s. I’m afraid he simply took TK’s word for it, and we
all know what TK’s word is worth.

  79. 79 Raptor May 18, 2007 at 7:25 pm

Yes, Todd, I am certain anyone’s word is worth more than yours, who is nothing more than a common thug, removed to the Internet.

Anyone you disagree with, is branded an idiot.

Most Sociopaths share your views of others.

  80. 80 Kelseigh May 18, 2007 at 7:27 pm

Seriously, TK, I’d go see a professional about that projection issue of yours. It’s really getting out of hand.

  81. 81 darkshadow May 18, 2007 at 7:29 pm

Wait … TK is calling Todd a sociopath? That’s hilarious. Shocker, but once again TK doesn’t understand the meaning of a word.

  82. 82 Todd Larason May 18, 2007 at 7:46 pm

I’d ask Raptor when I called anyone an idiot, but really, what’s the point? So instead I’ll ask TK if he had fun looking at the smut on my website, right after I responded to Raptor last night.

  83. 83 La Cabale May 18, 2007 at 8:03 pm

Oh, fine…I’ll do it. TK, you’re not an idiot, as far as I know. You do seem, by all evidence, to be a sociopath though.

  84. 84 Kelseigh May 18, 2007 at 8:15 pm

I wonder what you’d diagnose the others at CP with, seriously? Andy obviously has trouble with reality, and delusions of…well, not so much grandeur as competence. Scorpionman’s admitted somewhere or other (CreationWiki, maybe?) that he has Aspergers, and Conservative seems to be cut of the same cloth. But then you get folks like Ed and RobS, who are more complex.

    Any thoughts?

  85. 85 La Cabale May 18, 2007 at 8:21 pm

Well, Im not a professional in that field, and Ill keep my guesses out of the public sphere for the sake of people’s privacy (except for sociopaths–they out themselves naturally).

Sorry that your post got caught in the spam filter, Raptor.

However, in the future I’ll ask you to desist from defamatory remarks such as naming other people “terrorists”. Cheers.

  88. 88 Todd Larason May 19, 2007 at 1:17 am

Yes, Raptor1 (how many sockpuppets do you need at a site that doesn’t even require registration?), you’re growing rapidly. As Karajou was so proud of for about a minute, your weekly traffic graph shows you’re almost back to where you were 7 days ago!

I wonder why he didn’t link to the 3 month view?

  89. 89 Kelseigh May 19, 2007 at 1:19 am

I’m not a terrorist or a vandal. I’ve never, ever had a CP account, and I intend to keep it that way. Why help the cause of people I consider low-level child abusers?

  90. 90 lanfranc May 19, 2007 at 1:36 am

And let’s avoid calling people child abusers too, just to be fair all around.

  91. 91 Kelseigh May 19, 2007 at 1:47 am

I’m sorry, but I consider providing a resource to brainwash children to be abusive. But I’ll keep it to myself in future, apologies to you but not to them.

  92. 92 Tmtoulouse May 19, 2007 at 2:15 am

Oh yea, the war on us umm terrorist has really spiked cp traffic…seriously…wow look at those edits fly bye.

Wiki’s have this nasty habit of getting less and less active the more and more editors you block…its weird…almost like you NEED editors to make the site grow…..

  93. 93 Hyperbole May 19, 2007 at 2:28 am

Of course a lot of the traffic is someone who creates long and hilarious usernames to get deleted immedately.

  94. 94 Kelseigh May 19, 2007 at 2:31 am

Hmm, it seems that now that all the “liberals” are out (or so they think), it’s time to start eating their own, as RobS doesn’t like Heart of Gold’s political leanings…

  95. 95 Hyperbole May 19, 2007 at 2:35 am

Ive always suspected heart of being a cabalista anyway. I think I should email the FBI about him

  96. 96 Kelseigh May 19, 2007 at 2:39 am

    I’ve got my eye on Philip. He’s a little…too inoffensive…he’s fair to evolutionists, too…

  97. 97 Hyperbole May 19, 2007 at 2:44 am

Ive been thru that theory, and pretty much given up on it. Watch, a sock is about to get banned. And probably take heart of gold down with him.

  98. 98 Kelseigh May 19, 2007 at 2:48 am

I dunno, Heart is showing his throat, so the alpha (or in this case, maybe phi) male can show dominance by deleting a silly userbox.

  99. 99 Kelseigh May 19, 2007 at 2:54 am

Ow! My logic muscle just got sprained again looking at RobS’ reasoning.

Okay, so if it’s mainly liberals that do userbox activism, then what does that say about judging Wikipedia’s Liberal Quotient ™ with a poll that counts people’s userboxes? AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

  100. 100 Raptor May 19, 2007 at 2:59 am

    Heart of Gold? Him?

I think she has a nice Mustang!

  101. 101 Hyperbole May 19, 2007 at 3:03 am

Attention! En garde! La porte est brisse!

  102. 102 Kelseigh May 19, 2007 at 3:03 am

Maybe. Generally I don’t think much about the gender of folks that are largely anonymous text on the internet, so I was following the lead of others I’d heard refer to the name.

I’d note that anyone can find a pic of a girl and a Mustang, though…

  103. 103 Raptor May 19, 2007 at 3:22 am

Now you have probably hurt Teresita’s feelings! 😦

    Don’t be such a meanie!

  104. 104 Kelseigh May 19, 2007 at 3:28 am

Unless HoG is a sock, then we weren’t discussing Teresita.

No accusations, just tossing out possibilities. The human mind is endlessly creative.

  105. 105 Todd Larason May 19, 2007 at 4:24 am

BarfBarrel, if Phillis(sic) brought TK in, then I assume Phillis is Hot or Not moderator AidanM? He’s the one who mentioned Conservapedia to you, in particular the Margaret Thatcher entry. Or is it purely coincidence that that happened hours before your first edit to CP, to the Margaret Thatcher entry?

  106. 106 Tmtoulouse May 19, 2007 at 4:24 am

I think we can now say, with great confidence, that CP has obviously made all the right moves. Just look at it! Watch out wikipedia at this rate CP will have you out paced in well….6 days (God’s Version)!

  107. 107 Todd Larason May 19, 2007 at 7:01 pm

So, Geo, how’s that review coming along? Found any actual evidence yet?

I do note that the official party line has changed: there was at least one block which was not for “very good reasons”:

    # 10:49, 16 May 2007 TK (Talk | contribs) blocked “Tims (contribs)” with an expiry time of infinite (sock vandal)
    # 07:17, 19 May 2007 Philip J. Rayment (Talk | contribs) unblocked Tims (contribs) (No evidence of sockpuppetry or vandalism)

I’m actually impressed with a CP Sysop — thanks, Philip.

  108. 108 human May 19, 2007 at 10:20 pm

not sure what the point of bringing up Alexa was, selective statisitics? CP pageviews and rank dropped over 50% from May 16 to 17. Think about that. Basically, the publicity peak in late Feb/early Mar did bring more activity, but how much of it were people like me, not matching ideologues, but contributing nonetheless.

By the way, Geo, I’m not crying “victim” – just making the point that the only “justification” possible for my ban was activity “off CP”. The actual reasons given (sock, vandal, icewedge gang) are simply lies that betray that paranoia. Anyone can still track my contributions and see that I was never a vandal. There’s no way to prove I wasn’t someone’s sock, I guess, except that my IP is “real”. And icewedge? A gang? Heck, idewedge is an equal opportunity vandal, he’s done some crazy stuff to mess up RW as well. Although I think we thought it was funny, as opposed to hateful.

Not that I care about my ban anymore, I’m pretty much detoxed and don’t need my “CP editing fix” any more. Although sometimes when I read something poorly written there I almost reach for the “edit” button! I am also enjoying preparations for the release of rationalwiki v. 2.0

    There is no cabal.

    Caballeros, unite!

  109. 109 human May 19, 2007 at 10:24 pm

“No evidence of sockpuppetry or vandalism” means they couldn’t find them on RW.

I have received several basically intelligent and friendly emails from sysops at CP re:my banning (and one nasty one from TK, of course), they know what’s up. They are sympathetic, but the basic question they have is “have you ever heard of rationalwiki?” And if I have, there’s not much they can do. If I hadn’t (and could prove it?), I get the impression I’d have been reinstated already.

  110. 110 Todd Larason May 20, 2007 at 1:51 am

Have they offered any explanation of how that’s anything other than the guilt-by-association that Geo.plrd is sure isn’t being used?

  111. 111 PS May 20, 2007 at 2:09 am

Can anyone be so silly as to think “guilt by association” isn’t a valid enough reason for blocking someone? What Commandment would that fall under?

Any site can and does block anyone it feels like. Get a life!

  112. 112 Todd Larason May 20, 2007 at 2:16 am

Well, Geo says it isn’t guilt by association, so as far as he’s concerned we don’t even need to get into the discussion of whether that would be valid.

    To wit:
As i said before, there are very good reasons for all blocks. This isn’t guilt by association, it is a security action to remove users in violation of rules.

  113. 113 PS May 20, 2007 at 2:59 am

Oh the world owes me a living!
    Deedle dardle doodle deedle dum
Oh the world owes me a living!
    Deedle dardle doodle deedle dum

If I worked hard all day I might
Sleep badder when in bed at night
I sleep all day so that’s alright!
    Deedle dardle doodle deedle dum

There once was an old grasshopper
Who could only think of fun
He looked on work as something too
    Unpleasant to be done

He loved to sit in the summer sun
    And fiddle all day long
While dozing there he played this air
    And singed this little song

The north wind blew the leaves away
When winter came one stormy day
The snow fell fast upon the ground
No food nor shelter could be found

This old grasshopper sad and weak
Could hardly hop or view his feet
    He slipped, He fell
    Poor Chap, Farewell!

Some ants stayed in their hilly home
Looked out and saw him sneezing
They soaked his feet in mustard sauce
    He grew better soon
Now every day they hear him play
    And sing this little tune

Oh I owe the world a living
Deedle dardle doodle deedle dum, ah-choo!
Oh I owe the world a living
Deedle dardle doodle deedle dum, ah-choo!

I got a bad cold in my head You ants were right the time you said You’ve got to work for all you get Deedle dardle doodle deedle dum, ah-choo!

  114. 114 Todd Larason May 20, 2007 at 3:03 am

My goodness, TK actually knows how to credit copyrighted work? I wonder why he doesn’t do that places where the commandments require it?

Anyone have an email address for Geo.plrd? I tried sending mail through CP, but I haven’t even gotten my CCed copy of it, much less a response.

  115. 115 Geo.plrd May 20, 2007 at 5:57 am

Do you guys ever listen to yourselves? It seems like every time you open your mouths, a mountain of shit pours out. I have realized some things that I will try to distill down to your level of idiocy.
    1. Rationalwiki engaged in a concerted campaign to fuck up CP and they failed.

    2. Get fucking lives

    3. As you cretins should have realized by now, I and any other Sysop have no obligation to you assholes to justify our actions. AKA Fuck Off

    4. FYI, I will take whetever action necessary to preserve CP.

  116. 116 Raptor15 May 20, 2007 at 6:26 am

Oh my!! Don’t you know they are the only ones who can say those things? HaHaHaHa!

I bet that fat little asshole hacker will be thinking of ways to screw with you big time now……he might just stomp his feet!

  117. 117 Geo.plrd May 20, 2007 at 6:28 am

I don’t care if hacker screws with us, if he does I will ensure he spends the rest of his youth in a reformatory.

  118. 118 tmtoulouse May 20, 2007 at 6:33 am

Preserve CP? Are you that delusional? We have all ready won. All that left is kicking the pieces around.

  119. 119 Geo.plrd May 20, 2007 at 6:36 am

Trent here is question. how crappy are the canadian jails?

  120. 120 Geo.plrd May 20, 2007 at 6:37 am

P.S. All you guys have won is a Federal investigation, Compliments of CP!

  121. 122 tmtoulouse May 20, 2007 at 6:41 am

Oh yes, I saw your ic3 submission, that was funny, we all had a good laugh about it. We are all very concerned of course……

  122. 123 Todd Larason May 20, 2007 at 6:48 am

Geo.plrd’s email to me: “I will probably retract part of my statement”

I’m not sure you know what that word means.

And Raptor15, bravo bravo, yes, I am fat. I am impressed with your rhetorical as well as your detective skills — did that take you 10 seconds of googling to discover? Oh wait, no, I myself said it you in IRC, not being ashamed of who I am and having to hide.

22:45 I expect they have physical standards I wouldn’t come close to meeting, TK
22:48 are you saying you are a person of substance?
22:48 I’m, like, two persons of substance

And if you don’t want to be held to a standard, that’s fine, but it was Geo.plrd who initially claimed to it was all justified without question or doubt.

  123. 124 Geo.plrd May 20, 2007 at 6:49 am

What does Mcmasterbate’s TOS say about vandalism? Why don’t you get a life

  124. 125 Geo.plrd May 20, 2007 at 6:52 am

I would would like to retract my earlier statement, I have come to the realization that i am not paid to give a shit

  125. 126 tmtoulouse May 20, 2007 at 6:53 am

Ah, what happened to the FBI case? I don’t know, probably the same thing Brian Macdonald’s University says about harassment, stalking, and threats.

Tell ya what Geo, I am going to give you a chance to sober up and we can continue this conversation after you get a good nights sleep.

  126. 127 Geo.plrd May 20, 2007 at 6:58 am

trent, i am not the one who see CP as so much of a threat that they have to vandalize it. I am not drunk by the way

  127. 128 Kelseigh May 20, 2007 at 1:03 pm

Why is it that all these Conservatives who claim to be free-thinking individualists, all turn out to be blind followers of authority in practice?

    P.S., Geo, you’re cute when you’re frustrated.

  128. 129 Linus May 21, 2007 at 12:11 am

You want to see me screw with them, Raptor? Be careful.

  129. 130 Linus May 21, 2007 at 12:20 am

Oh, and simple DoS attacks don’t get reformatory, they get com service.

Be aware, I don’t mean to, just don’t mess with geeks too much.

  130. 131 Linus May 21, 2007 at 12:39 am

Hey, all you FBI people lurking around here…

I really, really intend to DoS Conservapedia, and get myself set to jail. That’s my goal in life, even more than throwing myself off the Empire State Building.

    Not really.

  131. 132 Geo.plrd May 21, 2007 at 2:19 am

Are you familar with the Homeland Security act?

  132. 134 Geo.plrd May 21, 2007 at 5:20 am

    i was talking to linus

  133. 135 darkshadow May 21, 2007 at 2:09 pm

Maybe a better question is are you Geo and the rest of the sysops actually aware of what the Act and all the statutes you’re quoting actually say? Or is willful ignorance paramount in your empty threats and crazy accusations?

  134. 136 hyperbole May 21, 2007 at 2:30 pm

    Silliness…lots of silliness.
The core of the “cabal” is busy trying to create something productive, not orchestrate vandalism, DoS attacks, etc. Most of what folks over at cp have considered vandalism has been posting of content they didn’t like by socks and by non-socks. Oh, and occassional annoyance posts. And then the Icewedge thing. All of which were posts to an open wiki. Dont like it? Close registration. Simple. Then, anyone who cracks in might actually be a real vandal.

  135. 137 Grinder May 21, 2007 at 2:39 pm

“is willful ignorance paramount in your empty threats and crazy accusations?”

Don’t you know? Willful ignorance is paramount to their entire belief system.

  136. 138 Anonymous May 21, 2007 at 5:44 pm

I am not willfully ignorant. Stop avoiding the simple fact that Icewedge and his crew have the purpose of destroying CP as their goal.

  137. 139 Tmtoulouse May 21, 2007 at 5:49 pm

At this point there really isn’t much to day, there is a fairly extensive record developing on this blog about who we are and what our motivations have been and will be.

I stand by that, and people can think what they like.

  138. 140 hyperbole May 21, 2007 at 6:04 pm

It certainly rests on what the definition of “destroying cp” is. If injecting scientific truth into an open wiki is equal to destroying it, then, well, Je m’accuse.
As has been said, just close the registration. You are a minority, and inherently will attract majoritarian views. Wanna avoid American culture…close the gates! To the portcullis!

  139. 141 Kelseigh May 21, 2007 at 6:07 pm

I thought Icewedge’s goal was lulz, more than anything. Although that certainly helps destroy CP’s credibility, but TK and Conservative (and RobS, frantically removing words from the dictionary) are way ahead of them on that.

  140. 142 darkshadow May 21, 2007 at 6:07 pm

The only problem with them closing the gate is that controversy will not find a way in, so everyone will lose interest. The only people who will then be posting and reading are the people who already believe their half-baked ideas. Their goal of teaching the masses or whatever won’t work (not that it was already, but it at least reached more people). Personally I now know what YEC is and can say with authority it’s the funniest/most stubborn/uneducated group out there.

  141. 143 Linus May 22, 2007 at 2:44 am

Geo: Yes, mentioning a DoS is not cyberterrorism. Actually DoSing something is not cyberterrorism. Crashing an airplane by cracking into American Airlines, for example, is cyberterrorism. Look it up.

  142. 144 Richard May 22, 2007 at 5:05 am

    Look who’s taken my place

  143. 145 Gulik3 May 22, 2007 at 9:41 am

    pal said:
“I never did figure out why Czol got banned, other than having a user name that’s hard to spell, and suspicious for being of foreign origin.”

Well, I believe he’s a fellow member of the Church of the SubGenius. The worshippers for the Sourpuss Jesus don’t like having believers in the Fightin’ Jesus around–it makes them feel inadequate. 😀
