Fun fact: A clean slate

Did you know…

…that one of the most controversial editors on Conservapedia regularly wipes entries from his talk page, instead of archiving them like any reasonable person would do? It’s true!

Fun Question Time! Why do you think he does that?

UPDATE: This practice seems to be spreading:

Karajou also seems to be a candidate there. Sometimes selectively, and recently completely (except for stuff like his promotion to sysop). Seems to be some sort of trend.

Just to let you know, my blog is up and running, sort of. Its at It includes some CP stuff, and various other useless musings that most people won’t care about.

  3. 3 Kelseigh May 21, 2007 at 11:11 pm

I wonder why Andy hasn’t whipped out the 90/10 rule on schifra for disagreeing with him yet?

Probably Andy thinks he’s making good points and that he’s kicking the guy’s ass on German politics or something.

  4. 4 lanfranc May 21, 2007 at 11:37 pm

    Linked to you, Palmd.

Just read that discussion, Kelseigh, and damn, I’m angry right now. It’s getting too late now, but there’ll be a scathing entry on that subject tomorrow.

  5. 5 Kelseigh May 21, 2007 at 11:43 pm

    Ooh, can’t wait.

Way I see it, the longer they go without a contrary presence to criticize them, the more they’ll think their most lunatic ideas are the truth. The old echo chamber effect, and this is but the first onset of rot.

What I find amusing is how despite putting down the concept of postmodernism, they’re all to quick to construct their own realities.

Hey, PAL doctor, you typoed your blog: it’s

  9. 10 Kelseigh May 22, 2007 at 12:21 am

    Whatever you say, Dr. Corleone.

  10. 11 human May 22, 2007 at 12:25 am

So, on topic again, although not ‘fully” researched yet. This is regard to the blunt tool of the so-called “90/10” rule. Many weeks ago, I believe I disagreed with AS, esq., on his talk page, and in response, after his splutter, he added, “and I do believe you are violation of the 90/10 rule, too”. By the time I checked back a day or two later, at two users had pointed 1) that I was far from “all talk and no work”, and that this was an innapropriate way to use a rule on a wiki (that was our Finnish friend). Seeking to document this, I have searched Mr. Esq.’s archives back a ways, searching for “90” to find the section. As my search kept coming up empty, I started to remember that it seemed to have vanished soon after the other comments were added.

Now, I can’t “prove a negative”, and maybe I just haven’t found it yet. perhaps I was wrong and it was on the main page discussion. But if I can’t find it, it was wiped to minimize embarrassment (those were my early chides – not to embarrass AS Esq. I thought he was doing fine on his own!), and if I can, it shows ridiulous research-free heavy handed use of vahue rules.

Say la “V”, as they c’est Oh Canada du nord from here.

How come you didn’t whack the mole back when it would have helped? Make some nice SXSWern Juackamole sauce!

  12. 13 Todd Larason May 22, 2007 at 12:28 am

The first part of the edit at [1] is interesting. Is TK just munging with the URLs to break them? That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me — if he were going to do that, why not just erase them? The other possibility is that they hit the anti-vandalism filter. I suppose that’s one way to keep people from linking to your critics…

  13. 14 human May 22, 2007 at 12:36 am

Weird. Truly weird. I’m not the brightest bulb on the Easter tree, but it took me only 10-15 minutes with World Book to figure out how Dr. Pal screwed up his url above. I think that given a couple of beers and encouragement I could reduce those double l’s to singles in, oh, under 3 hours.

I am surprised, and I know he is, that Aulis is still permitted to raise the average IQ over at CP by several points.

And what does the edit comment “Deleted companions” mean?

  14. 15 human May 22, 2007 at 12:38 am

btw, the first two lines of Aulis’ talk page warm the cockles of my cold atheist heart….

    Where’s my RW??? I am having a snark overflow….

  15. 16 Todd Larason May 22, 2007 at 12:40 am

The “deleted companions” is from the heading that discussion is part of.

  16. 17 human May 22, 2007 at 12:43 am

Yeah, I got that now that I read backwards. Man, that list of untimely deaths must be on 20 web sites by now…

I think we should refer to it as the Night of the Long Bong Hits, or the Night of the tINY kNIVES. I feel an RW article or talk space header coming on… where is my aspirin?

  17. 18 Kelseigh May 22, 2007 at 12:45 am

Night of the Dull Blades, perhaps?

  18. 19 human May 22, 2007 at 12:53 am

ROTFL! Those titles will be my 1st additions to my RW 2.0 talk page as soon as someone finishes feeding the hamster and I can get my learn on again.

By the way, TWIMC, I am still sorry I deleted that wandalism to “school”!

  19. 20 human May 22, 2007 at 12:56 am

By the way, I want to see this line featured prominently on the new RW main page (courtesy Andy on Ritalin): “This site is growing rapidly!”

  20. 21 Todd Larason May 22, 2007 at 1:08 am

Speaking of the rapid growth, Andy finally gave his source for the pagecount: [Special:Ancientpages]. So whoever suggested it was [Special:Popularpages] gets half a point, I think.

  21. 22 Kelseigh May 22, 2007 at 1:12 am

How does [Special:Ancientpages] work, anyhow? I assume that it isn’t the accurate depiction of current page totals (i.e., not including deleted pages and such) as Andy thinks.

  22. 23 human May 22, 2007 at 1:41 am

I make it 9959 on ancient pages (you can look at 5000 at a time if you tweak the url). I went grazing. Lots of “term lists”, in spite of he fact that no one knows to *add* articles to those lists.

I clicked on “Frederic Chopin” (no accents) knowing that a version with accents exists. It’s a redirect.

What was that about dull blades?

  23. 25 hyperbole May 22, 2007 at 2:28 am

Just to clear things up, TK is disliked for his actions, not his content. Conservative is disliked for his content and his terrible editing, including invading peoples user spaces to delete sandbox material on evolution. Andy is, I think, just pitied for tolerating you.

  24. 26 Kelseigh May 22, 2007 at 2:37 am

TK has to be disliked for his actions (and his horrible personality, let’s not forget), he produces so little actual content. Conservative, for his part, is ridiculed far and wide for his poor writing and obvious lack of understanding of anything he posts.

For the record, I think RobS, both Schlaflys and Kajagoogoo kinda suck too, mostly because they’re loons who prefer propaganda to fact.

  25. 27 PalMD May 22, 2007 at 3:25 am

Note to cabal, as RW is down: Commandment 11: Don’t out people’s private data (for instance, reviled CP editors’ names, addresses, etc.).

  26. 28 human May 22, 2007 at 3:42 am

Note to cabal: RW is back up and slowly taking form. V. 2.0: y’all come on in now, the water’s fine!

  27. 29 Todd Larason May 22, 2007 at 3:52 am

Is it against commandment 11 to give an editor’s name if that name was obtained solely through public data? How about suggesting certain searches which you happen to know lead to names?

TK, how many sockpuppets do you need on a site that doesn’t even require registration?

  30. 32 Richard May 22, 2007 at 4:56 am

Who buys the beer? CP is going to hell in a handbasket!

  31. 33 Todd Larason May 30, 2007 at 12:58 am

Hey Richard, are you still around? D’you have a copy of the logo you made for CP? We’d like one for our collection.
